Pimp your cheap jeans
Clothing store Zeeman has launched a campaign where they describe how to make cheap jeans look like ragged and bleached designer jeans.
Why it matters
If you’re a cheap brand, be proud of it and show why your products still offer the same possibilities as expensive A-brand products. Can you think of a product or brand that could use a bit of ‘pimping’ and create fun trends borrowed from expensive brands?
Cheap fashion fix
Clothing store Zeeman describes itself as a ‘good and cheap’ fashion brand. But it hosted a high end fashion show at the Amsterdam Fashion Week under the fake brand name ‘Frank’. At the end of the show, the real brand was revealed. The case study video was viewed 160.000 times and #zeeman became a trending topic on Twitter.
Why it matters
Being a cheap brand can sometimes be mistaken for low quality. With this stunt, Zeeman showed why its products have the same quality as high-end brands. Can we think of brands with a cheap and low quality image that could use such an image burst?
Become friends with a heroin junky
The Dutch charity Ikgebruik helps drug addicts to get clean. The organization started a special Facebook profile for the drug addict Monica. On this page, Monica shares her life and struggles to get clean from heroin & cocaine. Monica hopes that the many Facebook friends will give her the support she needs to get clean and stay clean.
Why it matters
By making it possible to get really close to the problem, consumers will become more emotionally connected, motivating them to help. What other social causes could leverage this kind of personable opportunity made possible by social networks?
