Taking cover under plastic waste
The designer Garth Britzman has used plastic bottles to create a cover for a parking space. To give it a bit of colour, he added dyed liquid to the bottles to produce a specific design.
Why it matters
Is this an interesting and creative use of recycled material? Are practical yet artistic installations the way forward to help solve a very serious problem such as plastic waste?
Within the scope of looking for new uniforms, the Austrian “Wiener Linien” (public transport network) asked the Fashion school Michelbeuern to design a functional collection to include the corporate colours and the logo. The fashion show, ranged from the avant-garde to the futuristic and took place on board a subway.
Russian fashion fans were treated to a show by French designer Jean Paul Gaultier when he came to Moscow and presented his designs at a train station. The Kazansky station was chosen due to its ornate decor to complement the intricate details of Jean Paul Gaultier’s collection.
