Sizzling for new cuisine
The steakhouse culture is gaining popularity in Turkey. The Nusr-Et Steakhouse is one of the leading restaurants of its kind receiving high acclaim for its quality, service and ambiance. Other establishments in this category of foods have also attracted a lot of attention recently.
Why it matters
While steakhouses might be old in the West, this type of cuisine is still relatively new in Turkey. There’s often a strong bias towards local traditional cuisine in ‘Next Eleven’ countries, but the notion of globalised cuisine might just be a trend that we need to pay attention to in those markets. What could be the next big imported taste for foodies in those countries?
Although organic food is now widely accepted and available in European and US markets, to date it has remained a relatively unfamiliar concept in Dubai. However, there has been a recent increase in outlets providing organic foods within the region.
In keeping with their slogan of ‘positive energy for the 21st century’, confectionary brand Mars have opened up their brand to act as a vehicle for their consumers to send positive messages to their friends and family. For a limited period the packaging sleeves have been printed with words such as ‘Happy’, ‘Smile’ and ‘Good Luck’ in the famous Mars font.
