Sizzling for new cuisine
The steakhouse culture is gaining popularity in Turkey. The Nusr-Et Steakhouse is one of the leading restaurants of its kind receiving high acclaim for its quality, service and ambiance. Other establishments in this category of foods have also attracted a lot of attention recently.
Why it matters
While steakhouses might be old in the West, this type of cuisine is still relatively new in Turkey. There’s often a strong bias towards local traditional cuisine in ‘Next Eleven’ countries, but the notion of globalised cuisine might just be a trend that we need to pay attention to in those markets. What could be the next big imported taste for foodies in those countries?
Danone has began to approach its consumers through the geolocation system, foursquare. To take part in these promotions you have to be registered to the loyalty platform Gananones.es and then ‘check-in’ to one of the two yoghurt makers which are in Barajas airport. Consumers can win free yoghurts and packs through the loyalty scheme.
In countries with hot climates, tea and other hot beverages hadn’t been favoured for hydration purposes. However recent surveys show that tea can be just as hydrating as water, and in fact even more so. As a result cafes around Dubai and Abu Dhabi now have special tearooms and tea books for their customers.
