Marketing consultancy Barcelona Virtual offers a virtual auditorium called CEL in the virtual world Second Life, which can be used for conferences and business meetings. The service aims to cut time and costs, such as travel and event expenses, that would be incurred in real life but serve the need for people to ‘meet’.
Developed by ScentSciences, ScentScape uses scent cartridges to augment audiovisual entertainment experiences like gaming or home-movies. Consumers can plug the device into a USB port, program their own scent landscapes and then share their ‘codes’ with friends.
