Opening the books on Portugal
PE Probe is a website that aggregates relevant information about Portugal’s economy and finances in English. It showcases statistics, events and documents issued by top organisations across the country. Created by the nonprofit entity Portugal Economy Probe, the website serves as a display window for the country’s assets.
Why it matters
The project is backed by renowned institutions such as the Portuguese Banking Association and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The platform is a unique example of competitors getting together for the greater good of the country. What other cooperation initiatives can competing organisations explore to improve the health of their country’s markets and economy?
‘The Shelter’ is a first of its kind community workspace that allows individuals from various creative disciplines to engage in a creatively nurturing environment. It’s a medium for forward-thinkers, creatives and intellectuals to connect and exchange ideas, converting those interactions into commercial services and products through subsidised work spaces.
Designers Sebastian Rønde Thielke and Anders Højmose have created a new time management tool called ‘daily stack’. It consists of different colored wooden blocks that are electronically connected to your computer and visualized as a widget on the desktop. Each block and color represents a different task and time period. When each task is finished a wood block is removed making the daily workload a physical entity.
