Guaranteed (hopefully) for ever
The German company Henkel produces tubular steel furniture. Their business model is to provide high quality products that may be considered pricey but that are long-lasting, rejecting the idea that profits are only gained by high sales volumes.
Why it matters
This model calls into question the usual path of growth for businesses. While many companies talk about sustainability, this company takes it a step further by manufacturing products that have a guaranteed long life span. Are quality, long-lasting products something that resonates enough with tomorrow’s consumer?
