Thanks to Via Michelin Mobile Locator, Carrefour offers a global solution of geolocation (Internet + Mobile Internet) to their customers so they can search by proximity, Carrefour shops via their mobile phones with GPRS access. They can locate the nearest store to where the user is and get the simplest route to go, including the possibility of exporting the location of its stores to any GPS device.
Why it matters
In Spain the level of competence in the distribution sector is high, where proximity is a key factor choosing the store. Is the development of these initiatives a way to bring stores to the consumer?
Imagining better ways of selling on TV
Brands can now add a tag to the commercials they broadcast on national French TV channel, Tf1. Depending on its colour, the tag means the brand either offers a discount, complementary information or is engaged in a sustainable development process. The consumer has to visit the dedicated website (tf1conso.fr) to find out more.
Why it matters
TV commercials are going to be more and more interactive thanks to internet. How about extending this kind of services to TV shows, to deliver more information or give more sale opportunities to a product placement?

The Comodo Console is an internet and entertainment system for the car. With the touch of a couple of buttons you can access the internet, play children’s songs, access any satellite radio station, locate the nearest ATM, gas station or restaurant. The device also doubles as a security monitor with a video system for safe reversing, a speedometer and a GPS systems.

What additional services might marketers offer to help our daily commute and feed our need for instant gratification and perpetual entertainment?
