The house party becomes serious business

The house party becomes serious business

There is a growing trend in Istanbul for wealthy bachelors to buy old flats/houses in low demand areas of the city and to have these second properties as ‘party houses’ for weekend usage.

Why it matters

A much more personal and controllable way to have a night out compared to going to a traditional nightclub and one that allows for easy variety. How will entertainment brands and locations adapt so that they can offer an ‘at home’ party experience in their establishments - will pop up bars/clubs become more popular than a never changing local?

The Coca Cola Village in Israel is a holiday resort for teenagers. The residents are given RFID bracelets (Radio Frequency Identification) to help them share their experiences on Facebook. Teens put a digital ‘like’ on their choice of forty facilities in the camp from the pool to the extreme sports activities. If photographed, the RFID technology automatically tags everyone in the photo and uploads it to the relevant Facebook profiles.

Why it matters

The event held 650 teenagers a day, generating 35,000+ posts a day, creating over 100,000 posts for the event. Real time marketing has huge potential for the future. What other ways will be see brands seamlessly integrate experiential activity with social media?

Support local

Support local

Supportland uses incentives to reward consumers for supporting local Portland businesses when they choose to buy products and services of any kind.

Why it matters

With the ubiquity of big-chain stores, it becomes easy for consumers to rack up points wherever they go while overlooking their local businesses.
Supportland shifts the power back to local independent stores by rewarding consumers for buying local products, whatever those products may be. Consumers can rack up points that can go towards whatever product/service they want at any local store.  Could big name, global brands compliment local businesses with a collaborative loyalty scheme to show that they can interact on a local scale too?
